As an evangelist myself (I am not a pastor), I mourn the loss of the great evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke.
I have read several tributes to him in the last few days. Here is one line from those tributes I can identify with: He told CT in 2013, “Some people call me a healing evangelist. I do not like that. I define myself as a salvation evangelist who also prays for the sick." Here was an evangelist who acknowledged the sovereignty of God when it came to healing - something rare in this era when evangelists bluff people into believing that God will heal everyone, eachtime, here and now. An evangelist who did not compromise biblical theology - that was Bonnke for you!
